Sue Scheff: Proving Free Speech will not condone online defamation

Read through this Blog to better understand how free speech is still alive, but it will not allow defamation. Think before you post and remember, what goes into Cyberspace is sometimes never retrieved.

The Internet has become the new legal lethal weapon to harm others with a few keystrokes. I am very grateful I could fight back! Sure, there is still ugly and slanderous about me, but I know the prevailed and I am vindicated through a jury verdict for damages of $11.3M! $5M of it was set for punitive!

Again, think twice before you go on an E-Venge Mission.

Sue Scheff - A Voice for Parents and Victims of Cyber Slander

As someone that has been vocal and victorious in two major court cases, I have attracted a lot of attention, both negative and positive. Thankfully, mostly positive.

If you see questionable things on the Internet about me or my organization (P.U.R.E.), please feel free to come to the source about it.After years of helping many families through my own experiences, I will continue to share my story in hopes that others will learn from my mistakes.Read the Blog to learn why WWASPS and the Teen Help Sales Reps continue to discredit me.

At the end of the legal process, I won victoriously against a million dollar corporation. I defeated them again in the Supreme Court of Appeals - and again had victory with an $11.3M jury verdict for damages done to me on the Internet and Invasion of Privacy.

Carolina Springs Academy - Sue Scheff - A Thorn in WWASPS Side

For those of you that don’t know my story - it all began when I was struggling with my daughter through her teenage years.

After placing her in an abusive environment - in my daughter’s experiences - (Carolina Springs Academy) - thinking I was going to get help - quite the opposite happened.

Litigation followed - I won victoriously, not once but 3 times. I defeated WWASPS aka Carolina Springs Academy in August 2004 in a jury trial in their home state of Utah. I further defeated them in the Supreme Court of Appeals in June 2006. In September 2006 I won an unprecedented jury verdict for damages of $11.3M!

Teen Help Sales Reps, such as Mark Peterson, Lisa Irvin, Jane Hawley and many others (their marketing is second to none in my opinion) continues to attempt to discredit my victories as well as my experiences. I guess you can call this Spin -They certainly are creative in spinning the story to fit their needs. Several months ago - I was actually contacted by a former employee of Carolina Springs Academy - this person told me that many of the staff have no clue I won, and this person told me so much more is still going on. But due to fear, people are silenced.
I wasn’t silenced - my story is here - and a jury heard it and I won.

My book - Wit’s End! - which is being published by the same people that brought you the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series, will not only share our experiences at Carolina Springs Academy - it will give you hope and inspiration if you are struggling with your teen today. People will hear my daughter’s voice for the first time since her time in Carolina Springs Academy.

After winning an unprecedented jury verdict for damages of $11.3M, I am a strong voice in helping promote Internet Awareness on cyberbullying, harassment, cyber-stalker, abuse and more - that is a growing concern in the Wild, Wild Web.

In today's crazy world of Cyberspace - it can be a free-for-all to literally destroy longstanding reputable people and organizations with a stroke of a keypad. With this, priceless services like Reputation Defender have become in demand.

As a client of Reputation Defender, I can personally attest to their remarkable services as well as their compassion to help people that are being harmed via the Internet.I was a victim of Internet Defamation and now a survivor of it - not only because I won an unprecedented $11.3 Million jury verdict for damages, but because I fought back!I am not a spokesperson for Reputation Defender, but I am certainly a very satisfied client and completely amazed at their dedication to keep the Internet a safe place for everyone.

For those that believe that it is about hiding the ugly, think again - Reputation Defender is selective and does their due diligent. I am proud to be their client. When I went public about retaining this service, it was a difficult decision - but in the end, I realized my voice has helped so many others as well as received the attention of Congress to hopefully make some legislative changes to promote Internet Safety.

Maintaining Your Online Reputation

As both a victim and now a survivor of Online Attacks, Internet Defamation, Cyberstalkers from extremely disturbed people (in my opinion) I have fought back and won! In an unprecedented jury verdict for damages, I was awarded $11.3M for what one woman did to me online. The jury took time to read the hundreds of posts of clear defamation and slander in an attempt to destroy me, my organization and hurt my family.

In many interviews I have been asked ”why” do people find the need to hurt others? I simply don’t have that answer. We can speculate, but I believe deep down people are not happy with themselves and feel the need to project their misery on to others.

John Dozier of Dozier Internet Law wrote an excellent article the outlines potential persona’s of these type of people. “The Top Ten Blogger Persona’s: The Mobosphere Unvieled.” Then Jacqui Cheng wrote about the Nutjobs that feel the need to hurt others online. It is obvious this is a growing problem.

Take the time to protect your online reputation - if you need to reach out for help, Reputation Defender is one of the services today that has helped protect many people and takes extra steps to protect our children with MyChild.
